Dear Enoch,
How's the rain at your end these days? Hope your area isn't flooded? It’s looking like this rainy season is celebrating anniversary because what in the Noah’s Ark is going on?!
It's been crazy over here. The rain has been affecting everything from work to hangouts, in fact, it's also affecting my wardrobe because tell me why the clothes I hung to dry since last week is yet to get dry. I can't even hang out with my friends because once I think of the roads and the traffic during this period, I just rest.
The worst part is that HR has permitted us to work fully remote for now because of the rain and the floods, but almost every eke market day, our light would develop one fault or the other. If it's not National Grid collapsing, it's poles falling. I tried using my generator as a backup, but with the recent fuel hike, after one week, I had exhausted a quarter of my salary on fuel. Hmmm, it is not well.
I knew I needed a solution and a fast one at that. So, I opened my Jumia app to check for power stations and saw enough affordable options to save me!
Don't get me wrong o, the rain still stresses me out, and I can't wait for it to end, but at least I have one less thing to worry about. In fact, as I'm writing to you now, we've not had light in my area for over a week, but because of my power station, I've been able to still get work done, charge my devices, and sometimes even help my neighbors charge their devices.
If I were you, I'd already be on my Jumia app checking for the power station that won't tear my pocket because with the way things are going, you can't bank on NEPA.
I've said too much. Till next week.
Love,
Jemima from Jumia
.
